Kate, Bernard

(1911-2003)
   British physiologist, of German origin. Born in Germany, he emigrated to England and became professor of biophysics at University College, London. In 1970 he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine and Physiology for his research on the nerve impulse and nerve-muscle connections.
